On Saturday night, Alycia Baumgardner is set to defend her undisputed women's super featherweight title. With each fight, Baumgardner's star power in women's boxing continues to rise, and her upcoming fight against Christina Linardatou signifies another significant stride on her path to glory. In her last match, Baumgardner secured the vacant WBA belt, solidifying her undisputed champion status at super featherweight with a decisive victory over Elhem Mekhaled.

Facing off against Linardatou, a former world champion, Baumgardner is eager to prove her dominance over the former champion. Should Baumgardner take home the win from this fight, it undoubtedly paves the way for an array of huge matchups awaiting her in the future.

Baumgardner not only has an incredible record of 14-1, but seven of her fourteen wins were by knockout. In November 2021, Alycia Baumgardner achieved her first world title by knocking out Terri Harper, securing the WBC women's super featherweight belt. Building upon that victory, Baumgardner dedicated the following year to amassing all the championships in the 130-pound weight class. Ultimately, her relentless pursuit culminated in becoming the undisputed champion earlier this year.

In round four of Baumgardner's fight against Harper in 2021, she caught Harper with a right hand that completely knocked her off her feet. Harper appeared to freeze in mid air and Baumgardner prepared a follow-up left hook. At this point referee Mark Lyson stepped in stopping the fight immediately. This performance was enough to convince many of the danger that Baumgardner poses in the ring.

in October of 2022, Baumgardner returned to British soil after her fight with Harper to challenge the reigning WBO and IBF women's super featherweight champion, Mikaela Mayer. The animosity between the two fighters was evident throughout the buildup, and the fight itself unfolded as a tightly contested and intense encounter. Ultimately, Baumgardner secured the victory through a split decision.

Following her win over Mikaela Mayer, Alycia Baumgardner had one final belt to secure in order to claim the status of undisputed champion—the vacant WBA title. Elhem Mekhaled stood in her path, and true to her form exhibited against Terri Harper and Mikaela Mayer, Baumgardner showcased her relentless fighting style, delivering two knockdowns in the third round. As a result, Baumgardner was declared the winner via unanimous decision, solidifying her position as the new undisputed champion at the super featherweight division.

Baumgardner is now set to get back in the ring with Linardatou and put any questions regarding her dominance to rest. The fight can be watched on Saturday, July 15 at 8PM ET on DAZN and is set to take place in Detroit, MI.
